San Diego International Airport aka: SAN, Lindbergh Field

The humble little San Diego airport has one of the most stunning views to greet and bid farewell to travelers. When you see the sparkling blue water and the tall, slender palm trees, you know exactly where you are.

I tag the San Diego airport as worth it. I normally tag airports as not being worth it unless they have something really fascinating about them.

This morning I arrived at the San Diego airport right on time. My departing flight had been delayed by nearly an hour, so I wandered around. I came to the conclusion that the San Diego airport is actually very nice.

It’s big, has a lot of flights, to a lot of destinations, but it’s not really what I would call overcrowded. It had a nice relaxing feeling to it. And when you go outside the weather is always spectacular, the views are beautiful, and there are actually some things to see and do within easy walking distance if you have the time.

R8 re-bagged the San Diego airport early this afternoon. He slipped through the baggage claim area completely incognito and boarded a rental car shuttle.

The formerly pay-for-play WiFi access is now free WiFi access. You will need a JavaScript-capable browser to get on it, though. (Lord knows it just wouldn’t do to let people jump right onto a public network without making them wade through a ToS agreement.)

i flew in here to go to my cusions house in san clemente. it was nice. it was so wild. i got on the plane in chicago, midway, its blizzarding, takeing a massive shit on us. i get off the plane in san deigo…theres palm trees…and its nice… the sun was out. everyone was wearing coats. i got some funny looks when i was wearing just a tshirt. it was heaven. no ice, no salt rocks ruining my shoes, no miles of snow. i dont think they understood how bad it was. lol. and it was march.
