but that’s ok, seeing it was enough for me for now. Some day I will climb it, when I come back to New York.

The Statue of Liberty got its designation as a World Heritage Site in the year 1984. Coming to the Statue Of Liberty Facts that it was a gift from the French to celebrate a 100 years of American independence. The original name of the ‘Statue of Liberty’ is Liberty Enlightening the World.

We went there couple times with my friends and family relatives. This is a must visit place in NY. Even though, i went couple of times, i haven’t got a chance to view the Crown View (You can see the NY from Liberty’s Crown). You have to reserve before, if you are going on weekends. Now i booked for Aug 21st 2010. Recently one of my relative visit this place on week day and he got a chance to visit Liberty’s Crown with out prior reservation. I guess only weekends needs reservation. Check before visiting this place.

It might seem like a tourist cliche, but the Statue of Liberty is very impressive from up close and offers great views.

The crown has re-opened recently, but I didn’t get to go because it was fully booked three months ahead! So plan your trip in advance.

I didn’t make it to the Statue of Liberty in time They closed in before I could make it.
