I’ve been here for 5.5 months, and I’ve done pretty much everything there is to do here…
I’m a Korean, so not everybody will have the same experience that I’ve had because I lived with my grandparents and know the language fluently.
Overall it’s been a positive experience.

Yay!!! In two months i’m moving to seoul. My husband is stationed there…. he’s been there for a year, and he reinlisted to stay again for another year… so we decided that me and our two babies are gonna move there. I have never been outside the u.s. and barely, outside of my state. So these is definitely gonna be a New, fun and exciting experience.

My first residence out of the USA, Ilived there for 2 years and returned several times. I love the nation, culture, and people. I currently hold a VISA to South Korea… that shoudl say enough.
Seoul is its own living entity. to begin to explain over 2 years f experiences is too tasking for one sitting… perhaps i will label the districts as i seem them listed in this site.

Things that will be considered impolite:
1.) Sticking your “chopsticks” or spoon upright in your rice or food. Leaving utensils like this is something they do to respect the dead…not something for the regular meal.
2.) When on the subway or train don’t sit in the handicapped/elderly/pregnant seats, even if no ones there, no one else will. Of course if you are elderly, handicapped, or pregnant use these fully. Warning: using these seats without cause can get you publicly berated.

Be ready to enjoy kimchi! Kimchi is a pickeld cabbage dish that comes with nust about every meal. It’s a little spicey and the recipes vary from region to region and family to family.

I love map provided by Korean government. You may get it for free from Tourist INformation. The detail in the map is perfect. Even though i don’t understand Korean, i have no problem using public transportation like bus. When i was on the bus, i looked out of the window along with the map in my hand and i didn’t get lose.

ellaas asks,
“I'm going to Seoul in mid-May. I wonder what are some of the "must-visit" places in Seoul, and... a question from my sister: where is the best place to buy cosmetics?
Thanks.
