Russia

I will be going to Moscow in September this year with some friends. Flights and accommodation are sorted, we still have to get the visa but im getting really excited now. :) Can anyone tell me how cold it is in September?

My name is Lara (After the Doctor Zhivago character) and my French teacher tells me I need to go to Russian once I graduate and ride the train. Also, I’d love to go to take photographs… it’s beautiful from what I’ve seen.

I spent a great semester there during college. The neverending cold and snow didn’t seem to matter much compared to the rich culture and landscape I encountered. I’ve never reflected so deeply on my cultural and religious beliefs as I did there. I recommend learning about literary figures and musicians before going there, then traveling through St Petersburg and Moscow. Russians are very proud of the language, literature, and music. The rural areas are amazing as well.

I lived here all my life, and still go there every year! The people are wonderful, the atmosphere is amazing (if you avoid going to the wrong places xD), and it’s just really cool. The scenery and hermitages are beautiful. 100% worth visiting. 5/5 Country

I have been blessed to be able to go to Russia 2x. Once in 1987 when it was still the U.S.S.R. and once in 2002. Difference of night and day between the two visits… but I can say I love it there. It is a beautiful place.

I was living there all my life!!! What can I say??? Well… it was my home you know, but I haven’t had any friends over there. Maybe it’s because I was different from everyone else… Anyway, everyone else (apart from my classmates) are extremely nice.

I’ve been interested in going to Russia for a while, even more since we’ve taken on Russian clients at work and my brother has some very good Russian friends. For the last 2 months I’ve also been having 2 Russian language lessons with a lady that comes to my house. I love the language. Its certainly different from English, and rather challenging at the best of times seeing as I didn’t taught the basics of grammar and sentence structure at school… however, but all accounts for a beginner, I am отлично!

The more speak to my teacher the more I am put off Moscow, but I do the same about living in London, having grown up there, I am really over the place. I can’t wait to go to St Petersburg and to travel out to Siberia and around on the trains.

I know nothing about Russia.
I need to learn and I need to go.

I HAVE to see St Basil’s Cathedral in Moscow! Of course, also Red square and the Kremlin, but St Basil’s! I must!

Where I really want to spend some time, though, is St. Petersburg. Once again, any Canal City is a must on my list. Especially a Canal City that knows how to party and loves great vodka.
