I’m going to Israel with Project Interchange for a university media seminar on June 15, 2008. I am so excited – all I have to pay for is my ticket from Cleveland to New York, and they’ll cover the rest. We’re going to talk to politicians and journalists to learn all about the region and the conflict. I absolutely can’t wait!

Hi, I’m planning on spending a month in Israel at Tel Aviv U taking classes, and then staying about a week and a half after. I really want to visit Greece—what is the best way to get from Israel to Greece? I am on a student budget, so also, what is the most cost-effective way to get from one to the other?
Or, are there any other countries that would be better/easier/cheaper to visit?

I can’t imagine a place I would rather spend more time – I plan to go back at the first opportunity.
In my recent visit I spent time in Yerushalayim, the north and Tel Aviv. I loved my time in the north, I visited many sites of the tzadikim and had some amazing experiences and met some great people.
One of my all time amazing experiences was the sun rise above the Kinneret – not something that a photo can capture adequately but I included one anyway.

Not worth it!
This place seemed to be good but people are very rude. The city, Tel Aviv, is very expensive and, honestly, very over-rated. I stil can’t see what the buzz is all about. Hotels are expensive with no freindly faces. The beach is cool though. Old cities are fun and very interesting.

I was a teenager, it was Christmas, I fell in love with Arabic coffee (Greek, Turkish, etc.), and inadvertently bargained with a shopkeeper over a shofar.

I dont’ believe that Israel would be a very dangerous place to travel, and the amazing cultural significance of this country would be worth ay perceived risk. Jerusalem seems like such an amazingly interesting city. I love history, and this city has some of the most important monuments in all of history.
