Hancock, Maryland

Cool During The Heat

My wife and I take a trip each year for our anniversary. We have chosen Hancock, Maryland this year because it is a different direction than we have traveled before. We have gone north to Gettysburg, Philadelphia and New York. We have gone east to Rehoboth, DE. It is time we headed west.

What is there to do in Hancock? Bicycling, relaxing and maybe some frisbee golf over in Paw-Paw, WV. If we go over to Paw-Paw we will have to visit the Paw-Paw tunnel and that gets complicated so maybe we will just lounge around small town America for the weekend in Hancock.

Though Hancock is small, they have a nice history page sponsored by the Hancock Chamber of Commerce.

Pat's King Of Steaks, Bella Vista

Famous Eats

My family and I ate a Pat’s King of Steaks while in Philly. While I enjoyed the experince, I found the Philly Steak and Cheese I had the day before to be much better. Pat’s has the atmosphere, but they could use some lessons on a tastier sandwitch from their competitors. The atmosphere is cool from the stand point that the place is on this little island beteen three streets and surrounded by row houses. (At least that is what they are called in Baltimore.) The south Philly neighborhood was sort of cool. The photographs of all the celebrities who had eaten there was also cool.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Philadelphia, PA

My family and my sister’s family went to Philadelphia this past week. We had a good time. We actually did not get to see all of independance square. There was just too much to see. We also went through the U.S. Mint. The thing that impressed me the most was the peace medals they had on display. I had listened to a book about Lewis and Clark and something they did was give peace medals to the Native American leaders.
