Gunung Gede, Indonesia

Phenomenal Views!

The peak of Gunung Gede has one of the most stunning views I’ve ever had the chance to view. The hike takes a very difficult 7-10 hours, assuming decent weather, but once you first glimpse the other volcanoes breaking through the clouds, it makes it all worthwhile. I’ve never seen anything like it.

Feel free to ask me any questions. I highly recommend witnessing this majestic beauty with your own eyes!

Pelabuhan Ratu, Indonesia

Escape From Jakarta!

Imagine prestine beaches, unspoiled coastline, and breath-taking sunsets. Now imagine that all of that is available only an afternoon’s drive from the hectic pace of Jakarta!

Pelabuhan Ratu has been a ‘secret’ getaway from Jakartans for years – and for good reason. The beaches rival anything Bali may offer, while the steep roads leading away from the ocean bring a cool climate within an hour. There are numerous places to stay along the coast, with decent food and surroundings. Well known for its surfing (and dangerous undertow) – I highly recommend P.R. to anyone seeking something ‘out of the way’.

Jakarta, Indonesia

Rough and Tough

I’ve been living in Jakarta for over three years now. It’s an “interesting” place – but remember that “interesting” can mean many things.

I guess it’s similar to other large cities in Southeast Asia – crazy, seductive, polluted, congested, and full of life in every sense. I wouldn’t base a vacation around being here, but it may prove to be worth a stop on your way to other destinations throughout this beautiful paradise.

I’ve been sharing stories of living here on my blog since 2002 – feel free to contact me for advice or assistance.
