Lincoln Memorial, The Mall

Untitled

I’ve been to DC many times; but, I always have to visit this memorial. You have to read the speeches…awe inspiring, esp. in this setting.

Café De La Presse, Nob Hill

Never disappoints!!!

Cafe de la Presse is great for any meal. Just went there again for brunch this weekend and tried the Croque Madame—the best I’ve had outside of Paris—and since it’s been more than a year, it might have even been better. The “tarts” are great for post happy hour…they’re cracker-based, rather than the traditional rich crust; but, you don’t even miss it. It really brings out the taste of whatever style you choose— I love the one with smoked salmon. Their fries are also almost traitorous to the point of being Belgian. Go there! Go now! :)

Lobster Shack, North Beach

Mmm...lobster rolls...soooo gooood...

I can’t give a much better review than the above, except to add that merely typing that and thinking about them got me salivating. This place is awesome! As good as, IF NOTBETTERTHAN, any I’ve had at fav places in Boston, Maine & Nova Scotia. I know them’s might be fightin’ words…;but seriously, if you like lobster rolls or even just lobster, this is the place in SF for you. Also, they have killer chowdah, some great local Maine beers on tap, and excellent crisps served on the side! Oh yeah, the “Maine” style of lobster roll is my fav; but, if you’re a lobster purest, go for the “Naked.”

Hmm…think I’ll pick up one for dinner on my way home. :)
