Osaka Garden, Paul Douglas Nature Sanctuary
Remnant of the Columbian Exposition
This lovely Japanese-styled garden is located on the Wooded Island in the center of the Jackson Park lagoon. The garden was established for the Chicago World’s Fair Columbian Exposition by the people of Japan. It’s one of the few places left in Chicago where you can get a real sense of how amazing and beautiful the White City must have been. The garden is located just south of the Museum of Science and Industry and east of the Jackson Park Perennial Garden and the Midway Plaisance.
