    Worth visiting!

my brother wandered off here, and me and my mom were chillin’ in the gift shop waiting cuz the line was too long. after a while, he didn’t come back, so we went through the area where the book was, and briefly glimpsed it. he had snuck outside. haha, ver dramatic.

Why I want to go to this place  — 1 year ago

I’ve been to Trinity College, and I didn’t see the Book of Kells… it’s upsetting

Very comercial and non-personal. They do not allow pictures to be taken, so I stole some on the fly.

I appreciated learning about the creation of the books, but I really wanted to see more of the actual books themselves. But I understand they can’t just be exposed for everyone to flip through. Get a student discount or try to get someone to pay for you and then you won’t regret it at all! :)

Very educational and historical if you like that kind of stuff.

The first time I went to this place  — 2 years ago

    Worth visiting!

I went in August 2006 with my family and friends. It was impressive to see something that old so well preserved. Also to see there is the Irish Constitution (from 1918? I think it was)...

Why I recommend this place to visitors  — 2 years ago

    Worth visiting!

Just an amazing thing to see, the Book of Kells is like no other. But, it is a small book & is open to one page per day. So your time at the book itself is rarely long. But take the time to wander around Trinity for a while before heading to the pub for lunch.

    Not worth it!

After queuing to get in there was no real organisation to actually look at the book itself. everyone was trying to get up to the viewing table at different points and some people were not prepared to shuffle around in a reasonably orderley fashion despite repeated polite requests from those in charge. Two lots of American people nearly came to blows over it – mildly amusing to witness but ultimately annoying because we didn’t get a good look nor for long.
