I got history fatigue here  — 5 months ago

    Worth visiting!

    - it was one of the last places in Rome that we visited. The scale of the place was just mind boggling. However, from memory it was very ruined so you needed to imagine extremely hard to conjure up what it must have been like in its heyday.

    Worth visiting!

visit early in the morning. the gates open at 9am, and there are almost no people there at that time. by 11, there are swarms of people and large tour groups.

I got lost here, and the people who work around it aren’t very helpful. It was awesome though, because I got a nice break from 100 american tourists that I was with.

A review of this place: Probably not worth visiting compared to other attractions in Rome  — 1 year ago

    Not worth it!

There are tons of different things to see before the forum. If you visited Greece or Turkey before, you’ll find forum not well preserved. See it if you have spare time. It’s just a step away from Colosseum.

A review of this place: One of Roma's most impressive sights  — 1 year ago

    Worth visiting!

I found the Roman Forum to be the most impressive place I visited on my trip there in 2005. Though much of it has crumbled, you can stand in the Forum and imagine what the Roman city center used to look like. The towering columns that remain are especially breathtaking.

Why I want to go to this place  — 1 year ago

I always dream to visit Italy! And in nearest future I plan to realise my dream! May be here I’ll make friends from Italy and we will meet when I’ll be there.

Why I want to go to this place  — 1 year ago

Places enter my conscious life often through happenings, sentiments, people.
It is nostalgie speaking, possibly, but sitting on Spanish Steps reading a book can suddenly seem like one of the most important goals in life.
I have not travelled for a while.
Little nuances, details of the world begin to feel familiar emotionally in that state of mind.
I did not even know that i wish to be in Rome, until i saw this little 2-minute-getaway-scene of BBC about Rome a few weeks ago. It reminded me immediately the bliss of being away, a bit tired, awake inside, happy to share the dust of the foreign city with someone precious to you.
    Spanish Steps reminded me that.
Thinking about Rome, though – i would certainly choose to see Roman Forum, immediately.
My imagination lacks colors for this place.
