my life gradually changed after visiting MECCA.. i sat for aitakaf after coming back and became a better person.. and performing umrah in ramzan was the best experience ever.. i would love to perform hajj and perfrom umrahs in every ramzan…
my prayers were being heard so quickly while i was there that i was conntrolling my thoughts and thinking about the phrase “be careful what u wish for”
an experience i will cherish for as long as i live

I always wanted to go to Makkah, since I was young. I want to perform the Haj or Umrah, and I want to pray in the Raudatus Sakinah and see the Baitullah myself. I hope I can do this before I am 30.

the first time i visited makkah was when i was 11, i’ll never forget it. my first sight of the kaabah – it was nothing like the pictures! it was bigger.. awe-inspiring. i was moved to tears, there were no words (and at that age u could not get me to shut up. oh. um, still like that) it is the most spiritually rich place i’ve visited. the atmosphere is perpetually buzzing with something electric, yet there is peace too. but this city is ALIVE :)

I am not sure if one must be Muslim to experience what I did at Mecca. Setting aside the spiritual side of affairs (those are personal, you know J), I will comment on the feel I got from the place.
In Mecca I felt like I was at home! I saw people sitting outside Masjid-ul-Haram like it was their home, too. The place is so unpretentious, so all embracing!
But it is a city of tough people, who at least speak harshly among each other, I felt. This was in clear contrast with the people of Madinah, another wonderful place to visit.

Its the dream of every muslim irrespective of color, creed, age or sex to visit this holiest place atleast once in his or her lifetime. The first time I saw it, i was barely 11 years old, but something deep within me gave me gooseflesh. The serenity, the peace, the love for the Almighty that you experience in the couldron of humanity is unsurpassable. I stayed there for two months and had a wonderful time meeting new people and making friends specially the shopkeepers in the bylanes leading to the Harem Sharief. I would love to visit the place once again, been 20 long years of separation.
