Hokkaido

hubby and i visited hokkaido years ago on a bus tour trip and i’m so glad we did because i met a lovely japanese lady who lives in osaka. we still keep in touch. she calls me occasionally in london and we are pen pals! when i go back to tokyo, we meet! last time i was in japan, i took the shinkansen and went down to osaka and stayed with her and her family for 1 night! we are great friends and she is like my adopted mother friend! oh! back to hokkaido! hubby and i absolutely LOVE hokkaido! the food is amazingly delicious! and the scenery is just gorgeous! i highly recommend you go visit hokkaido! we do want to go back soon!

Amazing place. The snow is fantastic and the food is incredible. You gotta eat sushi, expecially crab. If you’re a snowboarder, it’s amazing and can be cheap if you know your way around. Awesome powder adn some great tree runs. I was a fox in the snow while I was there.

Definitely worth visiting. I didn’t go there when it’s winter, so I’ll leave the beautiful snowy scenes to others to describe. Hokkaido is nice in summer as well, especially when you’re visiting the lavender fields. Great for hikers and people who wanna get closer to nature.

Suggestion: Try lavender-/melon-flavoured soft cream! These are Hokkaido’s famous foods (omiyage)

I want to go snowboarding and sightseeing. I’ll be there in Feb 2007.

I really don’t know why certain placess become so attractive but I’ve really wanted to go here for the past two years. It seems like there’s a lot of natural beauty and it might be fun to photograph some wild life, but this doesn’t really explain my attraction. It’s a mysterious feeling…

I love Japan, and have not been there yet.

I want to see all of Japan but haven’t been up North yet.

It’s comparatively silent, peaceful and outcasted than other big cities in Japan.

The food is especially nice, e.g. the crab, and the sushi.

I may recommend to go in Spring or Summer, if you like to see more natural scenes.

Cool place…esp the snow!! The roads are fantastic with warmth machineries from underneath so that the roads look as clean, and not muddy or salty.
The crabs, ramen and melon juice are just too delicious.
