Best picnic meal ever had  — 5 months ago

While sleeping on the beach at Morne Rouge bay a guy wakes me up. He says he is a diver and wants me to buy a barbecue lobster dinner from him. Being skeptical of giving a total stranger money on a beach I finally relented and haggled on a price. We set a dinner date for me and my friend for the next Saturday after I came back from my cruise. I got back to my hotel the next week and the diver had been calling the hotel all day. We went to a drink shack on Morne Rouge beach at dusk. We had lobster and hind (local fish species) and side dishes. We had a great conversation with the shack owner and the diver. One of the most memorable experiences of my life.

went for a funeral, and to see my roots. the country is very beautiful and and very well developed then i thought it would be, espacially after hurricane Ivan almost wiped out the whole island. the hills are beautiful and scary, especially since the people drive like madmen. If you love nature, hiking and long strenuous walks, then i definately reccommend Grenada.

I went on a NICE hike, with an awesome natural spring at the end. The plant life is really interesting and the locals were really nice. Don’t show off any money though, you will get surrounded. Not a lot to do, but if your around, like on a cruise or something it’s worth getting off for.

A tip I have about this place  — 2 years ago

I stayed at the Wave Crest Hotel just up the hill from Grand Anse Beach. Very inexpensive, but a decent stay. Air-conditioned! I went in June, which is the rainy season, but it only rained at night and early morning so I could spend time at the beach. Plus, June is NOT the tourist season, so go in June. You’ll have the beach to yourself. Want to go waterskiing? You’ll be the first and last customer that day. Ever been the only one on a tropical beach? You will here in June.

I had my 4th birthday here. The only other memory I have is of the biting fire ants.

Grenada is a beautiful island. I haven’t been since the hurricane a few years back. I hope it has recovered since all the damage that was sustained.

Grand Anse Beach. First time I experienced blue waters. Water that you can actually see your feet. Fish swimming right along with you. Heaven
