Small, but big  — 1 year ago

    Worth visiting!

It’s a supersmall country. I live in the Netherlands and people think it only exists out of Amsterdam. But this place is 10 times smaller than Amsterdam, and beautifull.

Nice streets, you can buy all kinds of stuff, and here comes the nice part, TAX FREE! Yeah you don’t have to pay taxes and all that bull sh*t.. San Marino is on top off a high mountain, so you can check out Italy from the top off another country. Really funny to acknowledge.

    Peace!

(picture is view from san marino, so it is Italy ;) )

Why I want to go to this place  — 1 year ago

Expanding on the family history reason from before… my aunt and grandmother went to San Marino a while ago. They asked teh locals where the family (who hadn’t immigrated) currently lived. It turns out that the family dwelled on this really high mountain and my grandma and aunt didn’t have time to take a donkey up to the top. But there is a “family saga,” if you will, that they tell me… It turns out that my relatives found out we are related to none other than Chef Boyardee himself. :) just a little fun fact.

machine guns sold next to perfume!  — 2 years ago

    Worth visiting!

An interesting day trip. medieval italy combined with frenzied no tax shopping! machine guns sold with perfume in the same shop. not something you see every day. and for those that think this is a tourist trap, in medieval times it was just as crowded and just as much shopping and business going on as there is now. it was a blast to get the things i had wanted to purchase see incredible views off the mountian and the best part that the flat we had , i woke up to a scenic view of san marino and that is were we went on the last day. i have lots of photos for the lights going on at dusk one by one likes stars falling to the ground and then getting up at 5 and watching the lights go off!

I just found out that I will be one week in San Marino this summer. It is a wonderful little place in the mountians of Italy that still is an independent government. So its time to put away the BYKI Polish and Get the BYKI Italian out! How do you order a beer in Italian.?is the beer worth drinking? I guess i’ll find out.

    I confess  — 2 years ago

I really only want to go to San Marino because I live in San Marino (the city), California. So it’d be neat.

I don’t know much about San Marino (the country) otherwise, except that it’s extremely small and independant and European.

I really want to go here. This is where my great-grandpa came from. I’d like to check out their public records if I ever visit and see if I can find out stuff about my family.
