Netherlands

I biked from Aachen Germany to Vaals, and then biked to a little village in Belgium just so I could say I biked three countries in one day. :P Well.. I did it, but I absolutely MUST go back to The Netherlands. There was no break between the cities of Aachen and Vaals, so it was quite interesting when suddenly things were different. I did get the feeling I was in a different country, and this new country had new things to offer! I really would like to go back and visit Amsterdam still, but I didn’t have enough time on this trip..next time for sure. :)

This was the first of my two spontaneous adventures. I’d been wanting to go to Holland for years – well, since I met a friend online, four years ago, I suppose.

He came over to London, and I returned the visit a few days after. I booked the ticket at midnight, and left the next afternoon, to get away from life and all sorts of complicated stuff.

It really helped, and I thought about a lot of stuff more seriously. Plus, it was the first time I went abroad on my own, the first really spontaneous thing I did, the longest I’d been away from home without telling anyone I was going (probably, by a few days at least) and the first time I went abroad – even just traveling – on my own.

My sister was studying abroad and my family decided to go visit her for Christmas! It was amazing, and I’d love to go back.

Went to amsterdam it was good i would like to go back there again i did not see all the sights such as the van goth museum or anne frank house etc rotterdam or the hauge would also be cool to go to.

The summer my mother passed away, I started corresponding with a guy in the Netherlands. I didn’t think it would last long, really – I’m terrible at keeping track of everything even during the best of times. That was two years ago though, and we chat on MSN almost every day. If at all possible, I’d like to go see him. It’s odd having a friend I’ve never actually talked to…

My cousin and his family are being stationed in the Netherlands. Both my cousin and his wife have been through language courses for Dutch for the move. I cannot yet hope to visit a place so far away, but I know that if I could… They would welcome me with open arms.

I had the opportunity to recently be present at his pinning ceremony at the Air Force Memorial for his promostion to Colonel in the Airforce. This is special since promotion during these present times is extremely hard to come by. I was so very, very proud of him. I listened to a Colonel span Michael’s career in the Airforce, with all the distinguished grad status from the different programs and the high esteem that his superiors and coworkers through his career held him in and the trust they put in him… It was truly humbling.

I hope that I can visit them during their stay in the Netherlands. They have always made me feel like family.

That is special.

The people are nice, the food is fantastic, the landscape is pure love.

I’m leaving on the 5th for my trip to Europe. We’ll be going to England, Wales, Scotland, and the Netherlands. I’m so excited!

It was grey, cold, and dreary when I went (April), very gothic. It worth visiting though. The canals are cool and EVERYONE speaks English.
