Take the DART  — 2 weeks ago

    Worth visiting!

I’ve only been to Dublin – but it was fantastic anyhow. I truly recommend taken the DART train and going through the whole line – that is if you like scenic views – it is a great way of seeing it – and if you buy a day ticket you can stop off at all the little towns on the way – ... Do stop at Howth and have some great seafood lunch … the best I’ve tasted … the seafood is really fresh …if you’re going north. Also, stop at Malahide – just have the great walk to the castle even if you don’t go in – you pass through a pretty forest walk, which kind of reminds you of a fairy tale path (except it is paved!) – and towards the south -whilst I haven’t been at Greystones – I’ve been up to Bray … quite nice to get off the train and have a bit of stroll on the beach. I didn’t stop at Dun Laoghaire – but I’ve heard it is a place to visit.

Why I want to go to this place  — 3 weeks ago

After traveling extensively in North America since graduating from university, I am ready to begin traveling overseas. My upcoming European vacation, which will begin in Ireland (land of many of my ancestors), is booked and the anticipation is killing me. While traveling overseas, I hope to immerse myself in the cultures, visit some interesting places along the way, and gain some new perspectives on life and the world around me – not to mention, have a drink or two (or twelve… who’s counting, right?)

It was raining, and it was cold. Yet, it was the best summer I’ve ever had.

We drove through a fair bit of Ireland, and what sticks out almost ten years later is the memory of touring lots of castles and touring Trinity College in Dublin.

Ireland is a beutiful country, with the rolling green hills and the grand castles. Every resurant has fish and chips(in ireland chips are french fries) on the menu. The locals have a very strong accent and it sounds like they are singing all the time and most of them are very nice. my favorite place there was probably the town of Kilarney. on the outskirts of town theres a nice little park with a lake and on the farside of the lake theres a castle andtheres some farmland and an old mannor and its really pretty.

Flying back from Turkey on a Turkey to Bournemouth to Belfast plane, our pilot fucked up and went to Belfast first. Yes, it was a short, one hour, unplanned stay, but I can now say I’ve been to Ireland!

    When i was 12...  — 5 months ago

    Worth visiting!

When I was 12 years old my parents sent me to Ireland in the hope that I would learn English. I was there for 2 months. I had a blast but sadly I did not learn much English. I learned two words why and because and in Spanish it’s the same. I lived in Cork. I loved it. Easy to get around even for a 12 year old. I lived with a family but during the weekends we would go on Excursions to places like Blarlney Castle and Tiperary. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life.

Anabaena asks, “As an American recently graduated from college I'm allowed to work in Ireland 4 months under a working holiday visa. Do I have to pay hundreds of dollars to apply through a program like Bunac or CIEE or can I go on my own?”

Anabaena asks, “I’m an American and I’ve been thinking of moving to Ireland for a year. I’m a little hesitant because I’m worried I won’t be able to find a job. How difficult is it to get a job in Ireland? Are there certain fields that are easier to be employed in?”
