Washington State

I was supposed to go to Seattle last weekend to visit my friend Katie, and I was so terribly excited. We were planning, and I was going to get to see one of my good friends… and I got a great rate on the flight! It was going to be perfect. Two weeks before my trip, I got laid off from my job… I had thought that I would still go on the trip… but I talked to the people at my previous job, and they only way they would rehire me is if I started immediately… so Seattle had to be put on hold. I am so disappointed. I was really looking forward to it.

A year of canceled trips… meh.

Owing to the fact that I had to cancel my trip to Koln due to a family emergency… I have been a bit restless with the travel bug. When I saw a really cheap fare to Seattle in a few weeks, I decided to snap it up. One of my friends from high school/college is working on her Phd in Seattle, so I am going to visit her in April. She came to visit me when I was studying in Florence, and we had a marvelous time together. I also have a lot of family up in the area, so perhaps I will get to see them as well! I couldn’t be more excited! I’m going for a long weekend. The only thing I have on my agenda so far is Pike’s Market. If anyone has any suggestions, I will definitely take them!

I’m hoping to be able to visit Seattle sometime soon. One of my good friends is starting her doctorate at the University of Washington, so it will be nice to have a place to stay. I really want to go down to Pike’s market; my mom bought wonderful spices in bulk down there. Now that I’m moving to the West Coast, I will have the ability to explore different places… But yeah, I definitely want to head up to Seattle while Katie is there. She came to visit me in Italy, I’ll visit her in Washington.
