Why I want to go to this place  — 1 year ago

Henry’s mom’s 70th birthday is this year. So, we are going to go to NYC in May. I can’t wait. This might mean I won’t be able to do my Atlanta/Scottsboro trip in April, nor my Miami trip in May.

My husband’s happiness is far more important. He hasn’t seen most of his family for about 8 yrs and it’s negatively impacting him.

What I want to do at this place  — 1 year ago

I want to give my 10 yr old nephew, Malik, a big hug. He has leukemia. This past weekend, at the Healing Arts Workshops I attended, one of the accupuncturists talked about how if you fix the energy system in the body and get things flowing in the right direction, even diseases like leukemia can be eliminated.

This made me immediately think of Malik. I’ve never met Malik. A 10-yr old should not have to worry about whether he will make 11-yrs old or not. Poor little boy.

Am going to try accupuncture on myself for the issues I have and see how that goes. If that goes well, I’ll have it done on Hannalee (my 6 yr old) for her stuff, and if that goes well, I’ll see if Malik’s mom will be up for him doing this also and find a good accupuncturist in NYC and hopefully I’ll do well with the stock stuff and pay for this for Malik.

Though it will be cold, it would be nice if I was retired from engineering to be able to spend Christmas timeframe with Henry’s family. Hannalee will be off school for 2-3 weeks and this would be a great time to go so she wouldn’t have to miss school. Though, she does have a Fall break that lasts for 1 week.

If we go to NYC, we’d visit MA and nearby places…which I would think is at least a 3 week trip. I don’t want to delay going as Malik has leukemia and Henry’s mom is getting up in age.

Husband's Family  — 2 years ago

My husband’s family lives in NYC, most of them. I haven’t met his brothers, sister, nephews yet…and would love to. His older brother lives here, sister, too and nephews. His younger brother is in MA, near Harvard.

Plus, there are tons of cool places to go to. Henry knows all the interesting places, as he used to be a messenger and was all over the city. We need to spend a few weeks here. Need to retire from Engineering ASAP.
