A question about this place:
Moving there soon from the east coast- what are any affordable neighborhoods? I'd like to pay around $600-700 a month for rent. Is that possible?

For a room, yes. For a whole apartment/condo, no way. I pay $550 for a room in a house, and that is considered semi-cheap. Even a studio is at least $900+.

Ryarwood sums it up pretty well, regrettably. I still think it’s worth the expense (for now!) but if that’s your absolute upper limit and unless you are willing to share a place or get a room in a house like he does, you’ll find it tough going.

Oh I’d love to have a roommate, but alas, all of the people I know are on the east coast. Guess I’ll be haunting the craigslist “roommates wanted” section for a bit…
