NOT ALL OF ARIZONA IS A DESERT (WE HAVE THE LARGEST UNDITURBED PONDEROSA FOREST IN AMERICA). THE ENTIRE STATE HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING LOWER THAN AVERAGE RAINFALL SINCE 1999. YES, WE LIVE IN THE DESERT..MOST OF US ANYWAY, AND YES WE ARE EXPERIENCING A DROUGHT THROUGHT THE ENTIRE STATE. HENCE, WE HAVE NORTHERN FOREST THAT ARE DRY TO THE BONE AND ON FIRE AND SAGUARO’S IN THE SOUTH THAT ARE SHRIVELING UP AS THEY EXHAUST THEIR DEPOSITS OF WATER.

Hi there,

I lived there from 1959-1962 and then again from 1988-2005.

I’m not sure what your question is. My opinion of living there: if you are skilled, you can make a good living and find a relatively inexpensive house. I raised my son there (he’s 16 now) and while it’s a bit dull, he has friends he’s had since 4 years old. And that’s what makes life in small towns more interesting.

Visiting: sure, there’s a lot of stuff to see nearby. Touristy, scenic stuff, ball games, hockey, football, spring training. Yes it’s hot in the summer: horribly hot. I got tired of it after 17 years. Good luck!
