sorry i can’t answer your question. i was there 10 years ago and travelled up north from s. africa, and then back down. i have very fond memories of a 5 day canoe trip on the orage river, the etosha pan, and running down big sand dunes at sunrise. have a great time!

Start in Windhoek, the capital to get a grounding. there’s a hostel called “the cardboard box” which you should hook into if you would like a pool to swim at, a group of travelers such as yrself, and also a bunch of information and hosted trips.

check out sousivlei, the sand dunes outside of walvis bay/swakopmund…skydiving and sand boarding?!!

...and if you’re up for some real adventure, check out the epupa falls, home to the himba peoples along the angola border (northwest namibia).

have fun and be nice.

aww how sweet….i think you best bet will be to start in orendjemund…not much to see there but the mines…then work your way up to the north…..make sure you visit the west though…..to go sand surfing on the highest sand dunes in the world!!!!

I’d start in Windhoek.

Hi, start in Windhoek and go North first as the rains start in the North -and Etosha is North. So if you want to see game in Etosha, do this first on your itinerary.

Must do: Damaraland – want to see wild Cheetah? Have a contact for you.

Swakopmund – eat a German cake at cafe Anton and find out about skydiving in Walvis Bay/Swakopmund Airport.

Solitaire – for the athmosphere after a 4 hour drive in bare nothing

Sossusvlei – try a walking safari there instead of only driving in. Have a contact here, too.

Kolmannkuppe – here the “just do it” slogan by Nike takes on a new reality

Spitzkoppe is difficult at that stage because of a film preparation but try to get info in Swakopmund

... but there is adventure everywhere as even a simple drive can hide the unexpected ... a rare desert chameleon passing the road, game watching you, a car with a problem - hopefully not yours - and the incredibly blue blue sky with so much contrast below ... that you will have to tweeze yourself to know it's for real!
