Swansea is a prety safe place. Furthermore it has a university opposite the sea, overall it is a very nice location – The Gower Peninsula.

I’ve been studying here for the past 5 months. The Gower is a beautiful peninsula to explore. Since I’m from the midwest USA, Swansea certainly has a lot more shopping, restaurants, bars and everything like that than I’m used to but if you are from a city then it’s probably average. It’s easy to take walks from the student village on some of the backroads and enjoy the scenery (since you want small and quiet). Depending on what you study the classes shouldn’t be too big -one of mine was 7. I still feel like there’s more I could see here before leaving. It was terribly rainy and overcast the first month I was here and has only really started to warm up in the last few weeks to weather where you can actually enjoy the beach. The main social activity here is definitely drinking/going out to pubs, clubs and bars. There is a bowling alley and movie theater though for other options. I’ve always felt safe except for once or twice waiting for a late-night bus down at the bus station. If you have any more specific questions I’d be glad to try to answer them!
