Hi: Below is a web link to the Renton chamber of commerce. There is lots of information, including: real estate residential and apartments as well as lots of other info.

http://www.gorenton.com/index.htm

There are apartments next to the Lake (pricey) Washington. Fairwood, Talbot Hill, most neighborhoods of the Highlands are all right neighborhoods. The Highlands low income area is being bought out and replaced with pricey housing. I would not recommend downtown Renton. It’s noisy and, at times, congested traffic. I wouldn’t recommend Skyway either. Lakeridge is a little better. Cascade and Benson are ok. It might be good to rent and go around and check things out for yourself.

There are lots of parks in Renton. The favorite, and people come from all over is: Gene Coulon Park. Don’t miss the little park next to Boeing where you can see sea planes land and take off.

Renton has good access to go to Seattle or South to the mountains or whatever. Also, easy access to go east, over the mountains or if you ski. It’s a very centrally located city.

Good luck, oh, by the way, I lived in Renton from 1960 to 1997. I commute from Bonney Lake/ Summer. It is 27.5 miles south. In the morning it takes 40 minutes. It takes longer in the afternoon. Commuting can be challenging around here. It depends on if you don’t mind traffic.

Also, I work in Renton at “a large aircraft company”. Good luck on your move and job.

regards, Melody
