Sorry. I’ve only stayed in various hotels in St. Pete. I would definitely find out the conditions before you make a reservation though. Speak to a travel agency perhaps and see what they recommend.

Nord hostel is right smack in the middle of everything. Nevsky Prospekt. Its small and reservations should be made in advance, then try to contact the place to confirm.

I would also suggest the Moskyva hotel for an inexspensive stay at a centrally located place. check out russiainmay.com and let them know Jose sent you.

I think I stayed at the Nord Hostel, the location is fantastic, just a few steps and you’re at the Hermitage. The people were nice, the hostel wasn’t spectacular or anything, but considering the location good value for money. I stayed here in 2006.
