Orchard road is good for high end shopping( for shoes)and you may find some bargains i.e. OG , plaza singapura , le meredien walkway ,etc along the road. Mustafa Shopping Centre in Little India is a great place for a one stop shop.

Hehe, I almost forgot about our 24 hours Mustafa shopping centre in Little India…This is a place where you could find almost anything, including some pretty cheesy stuff :P… It’s almost like Walmart meeting clash of the titan :P…And definitely a very interesting place where you could buy bananas and lunggages at the same time, very good place for the tourists ;)

Hey! Singapore also boost some top-notch attractions : its zoo is one of the best in the world, its night safari is extraordinary, its Sentosa Island very colorful & relaxing,…even tho it’s not my cuppa ;)
Most of Singapore’s attractions are fairly modern with little connection to Asia. There are of course some Temples, Mosques, Cathedrals and colonial buildings but nothing spectacular worth a special trip.
It does not have the lights of Hong Kong nor the colonial charm of Kuala Lampur but it is nevertheless a charming, reasonably relaxed and fairly green place with colorful ethnic districts and lots of markets and food courts. YES! FOOD + Shopping S’porean favorite pastime!
For such a developed and expensive place, the food offering of Singapore is surprisingly wide and reasonably priced, hence this excellent rate. Clean food courts can be found at nearly every corner while excellent restaurants cater to richer gourmets try the Hainese Chicken Rice, Malay- Satays, Indian -Roti Prata , or the Chilli Crab,BBQ StingRay…and the list go on and on..yummy!
Worth visiting :The Ethnic Quaters

Visit the Boat Quay (Singapore River) by Night. The fav place to “chill out” for most professionals and expatriates.
Oh the great S’pore sales starts from 26th May 2006 to 23rd Jul 2006 ! I wont be there but
Happy shoe hunting ! :)

Eh, thought you haven’t been back here for a while, still know so much about Singapore? ;)
P.S./ Singapore’s colonial charm and
Kuala Lampur are equally nice and charming, can’t compared them :)
And did you know that K.L., Malaysia has recently passed a new law, that you can’t kiss in the public? Hey, at least in Singapore you still can kiss and hug in the public openly, just no sex :P

I hate to say this but I guess I am a true blue " closely monitered’ Sgrean @ heart LOL!
KL pass new law no kissing in Public? A dry or a wet one? LMAO! :P
Shagging in public would be an offence too in every country I guess even here in the City of Amsterdam! ;)
govt legalized solicitation 4 pros tho- as long as you pay tax! ha ha :D

Wow liao, the page was hung for like half an hour again, wonder if it happens to anyone here?
Well, I was a true blue “closely monitored” Singaporean too when I was living and working in Overseas :D
Err, hello, how will I know if dry or wet one allow?? I will let you know if it happens to me in K.L ok? ;)
Aren’t all kisses wet?? Unless you talking about a “peck”??..Umm, thought that’s still wet? :P
So you are now living in the lovely city of Amsterdam, have you tried their “coffee shop” yet? Do you go there daily? :P

Ok you try them kisses and lemme know lol!

Pecks need not be wet. Some people don’t know how to give a dry peck, and some don’t know how to give a wet peck, but both exist.

Holland Village
Err, ok good to know that you are a potential expert in this “pecking” skill, maybe you can show me one thing or two later when you get a chance, on how “not to feel wet” from the pecks :P
The wettest pecks I ever gotten were usually from those cheeky Frenchmen ;)

There are a lot of places to buy shoes in Singapore.
It would be lovely if you can visit Singapore between end of May and Mid of July. Singapore has an event called Great Singapore Sale (www.greatsingaporesale.com)
It is the best time to shopping, because the price will be amazing especially for branded stuff.
Anyway..you can find your lovely shoes along Orchard Road, there are a bunch of stores where you can browse around before made your decission.
But I also find another mall near the expo at Tampines, even though every body said that Orchad is the best place to shop ; I found that shoes in Tampines more stylish.
I bought my sandals and shoes there.
I don’t think that you can find shoes in Mustafa. For me Mustafa is the place where I can buy the chocolate, indian traditional food, and Indian vcd.
My advice for you, don’t buy it right away..browsing 1st then buy.
But you should visit Mustafa, China Town (buy the Beh Cheng..forgot the name again), and Clark Quay …a place for having dinner in more relaxing way.
Hm…you make me want to visit Singapore again…
I’ll be back…maybe sometimes in June

Err, thought that men are not as crazy as women when comes to shoes? :P
Usually you go in to a shop and you know what you want, unlike the women in general ;)
We do have some local designers shoes at some places like Wisma Atria or Far East Plaza in Orchard, can’t remember the name but it’s something like beattle bug or juice, sorry I don’t make an effort to remember men’s shoes :P.. But I noticed they do make nice men shoes :)
“Charles and Keith” stores is our very own designer too. They have expanded to stores to China, Malaysia, Jakarta, etc…They do have very cheap but nicely designed women shoes, but not sure about whether they make any men shoes.
Anyway, our very own main departmental stores, the very “Singapore” brands would be like CK Tangs, Metro, and Robinson(has been around for about 100yrs old) are mostly in ORCHARD area..These stores have also expanded to Malaysia and Jakarta.
Another multi-storey mall I forgot to mention is our Plaza Singapura.
Seiyu, Isetan, and Takashimaya are Japanese stores.
Me too, Mulzana, I’m not really a big fan of “suburban/heartland”-type area, but it’s more of a hassle to me since I do live in the central area :)
Attached is a recent pic I have taken 2 days ago, a view of our CK TANGSSINGAPORE in Orchard Road.
P.S. So I see that you(clyde) have just came back from the Singapore trip, so how was it like for you?? Did you get to the Little India and try our very own curry fishhead?
And the “New Urban Wear”(I think) is also our local designer, but I don’t think things are cheap in “Hareen”, Orchard ..(Hareen are known to be for rich kids shoppers) :P

I can’t believe no one has mentioned this yet.
A good place to find sports shoes for cheap would be Queensway shopping centre. They’ve got tons of stores there selling great looking athletic footwear and you bet the prices are low. Dun forget to ask for a discount, and dig deep.
