Yes,
there is a good bus system, and a lot of places are within walking distance. a bicycle would not be a bad way to get around either.

Agreed, though having a car is pretty convenient if you’re going to be working on the other end of town, or esp. for going out the road on hikes or chilling at eagle beach (but you can definately get away without one). Would suggest a bicycle for sure!

the public transport here is great. the buses are usually on time, and the bus passes are pretty cheap. though its also really easy if you borrow one from a friend and copy it using a color copier. (sometimes hard to find a color one though)

It can be hard to get around in Juneau without a car. The hardest part is the snow in the winter. There isn’t very much shoulder on the roads either. And because there are so few ppl riding their bike regularly, the cars aren’t used to bikers. The city is spread out also, so if you work in town and live in the valley, you will have to ride around 10 miles. Fine in the summer, but next to impossible in the winter. Good luck!
