When I went to Galway I stayed at Sleepzone Galway. It was very clean and there was free Internet access. I don’t remember how much it was, but it was relatively cheap.

While in Galway, I stayed at the Kinley House. It was right downtown and had all the services I needed in the common area such as phones, computers, job postings, etc. The reason we stayed there was because we had coupons, but it was highly recommended to us from friends who had stayed there. It is inexpensive and offers private rooms or the usual multi-bed rooms. It was very clean and the staff there were extremely nice!!! Enjoy!

Yeah, Kinlay House is fine, it’s a large place with lots of young student-type travellers staying there, certainly in-season it’s quite busy. Well-run but impersonal ?

But if you fancy something different, search for Corrib Villa (I think it’s called) which is in a quieter corner of town, quite near the cathedral. ‘Fraid I can’t remember what road it’s on. Anyway we stayed there a couple of times (going back a few years now!) and it was fine.

I stayed at Barnacles on Quay Street when I was there. Very inexpensive and the room my girlfriends and I stayed in was very clean, although very basic. It is right in the heart of town so I imagine it could be pretty loud if you stay in a room facing the street. Also, the staff was very friendly to us.
