A question about this place:
Leaving for Maui/Kauai in 2 weeks, what's the best luau to go to? Also, I'm an architect and would love to see some neat buildings, any recommendations?

the luau at the Princeville Resort in Kauai’i is excellent. I highly recommend it.
as for buildings the Hanalei Bay building in Kauai is beautiful. Check out the view from the outside resturaunt. Amazing.

Also for achitecture just outside Hanalei on Kauai town is a little church right on the main road that is very nice inside and out.Here is a link for it…

By the way in Kauai from Hanalei to Ke’e Beach is my favorite place on earth. I also recommend if you are physically fit to at least walk the Kalalau trail to the first beach…it is a rugged trail but well worth it.

Smith’s luau on Kauai, hands down. Wonderful gardens and delicious dinner. The dancing was great because they did dances from other Polynesian islands besides Hawaii.
