Well, I’d say the “Oceania” bit is correct but the “Australia” – not so much. Australia should be in Oceania only as well.

I’d say more “bemused” than “annoyed”, but then I’m not a New Zealander. It might look different to me if I were!

If they would just use the name Australasia which covers Australia, New Zealand and a few more it would be okay.

Some sites I’ve been on have no category for Oceania. If you want to put a NZ thing the closest option is Australia. Then there are the world maps that miss New Zealand off altogether.

Australasia really only covers Australia, New Zealand and according to some sources, Papua New Guinea. Oceania would be better.

spare a thought for the Azores – in the middle of the atlantic ocean, and they’re lumped with Australia/Oceania…

It doesn’t bother me as like most people, we’re used to it.

As long as we’re not forced to be grouped with Australia (I’m looking at you, Risk) then I’m fine with it. Oceania could be improved… but it doesn’t really matter.
