I agree, Memorial park. There is also a running trail around Rice University that seems nice.

I agree Memorial Park. You can also run at the City View Park (not sure that is what it is called) near Greenspoint. It is a 2 1/2 mile run, although it is concrete. I am sure there are other places, Herman Park I believe. It really depends on where you are and how far you want to drive/walk/run/ride. ;)

I often find myself running for a bus. Does that count?

There is a bayou that runs through Memorial Park and on toward downtown and it runs past the Sam Houston park downton. I notice people running along that bayou and have gone running there myself. If you go down Allen Parkway, there are parking spaces where you can park while you run.
