you should definitely go see a cirque du soleil show. or even blue man group. for a less costly thing—the Bellagio often has a great display.

I used to be a tour guide on a tour that went through Vegas and my Mom lives there… If you are on a budget, there are a lot of things to do for little or no money! The casinos are basically themed based. The Paris has the Eiffel Tower going through the casino itself and you can go to the top. My favorite things to do are to go to the Paris and not gamle but to walk through the boulevards and shops and stopping for champagne, etc… The Venetian has the Italian theme with gondolas and rennaissance singers, jugglers etc, putting on shows. The Bellagio and Treasure Isle are close by and have their pirate and water shows that are free. The MGM you can sign up to watch pilot test shows for television! The Stratoshphere at the other end of the strip has an amazing view of the city when you go to the top. New York New York had a wild rollercoaster ride on top of the building. I believe it is around $10…. If you are with a group, you can rent a limo and cruise down the strip. It was around $80 and hour but when you split it, it was well worth it. Because the places are themed you may want to split up and go where your interests lay. There is no way you can see them all even in 2 nights! I would suggest checking out the individual websites of hotels to see what they have to offer. the Fremont Experience is in the old section of Vegas and there is an amazing light show that happpens in the evening and it is free! Just remember, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas! Enjoy!

When I went, I spent too much time on the strip. I recommend the bellagio display for sure. I just saw Cirque’s Varekai show, and have heard that their Vegas show is better, so I absolutely agree with MakeshiftHead on that one. If you can afford it, go.

Check out the strip, but don’t waste all your time there. There are tours to the Grand Canyon, if you’ve never seen that. Red Rocks is a popular destination as well. It’s a must see if you like getting out into nature.

If you are going to spend your money on a show, go to the Rio and catch Penn and Teller. It’s a great show. Wednesday nights has mud wrestling at Gilley’s inside the Frontier Casino. It is good clean fun…. 3 foot tall margaritas at Harrah’s are great conversation starters. Some of the great free things that you can indulge in are: The Masquerade Show at the Rio and the Fremont Street Experience is a MUST SEE in downtown Vegas. Also check out the Bellagio fountain show. The Orleans is a fun casino that is a little off strip with $2 craps and $3 blackjack tables. The ferrari dealership inside The Wynn casino is cool if you are into cars and is free admission. Every show is pretty much worth the price of admission, it is just a matter of what you are into. The Rio has the best seafood buffet with all you can eat lobster tail, but it is $35/person. MGM grand has got the lions and the Mirage has got the white tigers. The Ghost Bar at Palms is worth all the hype. Make sure you take advantage of every comp you receive because it really does make a difference. Have fun.

I would make a point to stay out all night just making the rounds from place to place - Bourbon Street is always a fun one and they have so many new places depending on what you’re looking for. When you are finally done being out and about go grab some breakfast at any breakfast place in the AM. You can’t beat it!!

The other replies just about say it all… The casinos and the Freemont Street Experience have lots to see. If you want to get out of the city for a bit, there is Red Rock for short hikes and Valley of The Fire for a half to full day outing depending on how motivated you are! (grin) Lake Mead has several marinas with cafes and such for lunch on the lake. Good places for a break when the glitz of the strip get to be too much..

Walk down the Strip at night.
Not even kidding, it will be very, very memorable.
Not only will you collect prostitute advertisements (they’re all over the place, good luck not getting any), but you can see the foutains at the Bellagio, which are perfect, AND you can see actual Elvis impersonators or people in random costumes wandering down the street. It’s outstanding, and it takes you away, thinking how something that crazy actually passes for ‘normal’ in Vegas.

AND. Go outlet shopping. Duh.
