If you want a Glendale location, then try for as far north in Glendale as you can afford/care to drive. Those areas have newer schools, lower crime rates, etc.
The Arrowhead area is quite beautiful, the homes are larger (although sometimes pretty close together) than those in the Thunderbird/Cactus/Peoria Avenue areas..
If you go even farther north (north on 59th Avenue, over the “mountain”) the neighborhoods there are nice as well. More land (lots of acreages), so more pricy, but the homes there are beautiful.
These west-side locations are terrific, especially since the Coyotes have moved to Glendale and the Cardinals stadium will be in use by this time next year. Not that the Cardinals are worth moving TO, but the presence of these teams will certainly spur development of other “destinations” and have already started rumors of theme-parks, etc.
The World Wildlife Zoo is on the far west side (Northern Avenue) and for my money is even cooler than the Phoenix Zoo.
And of course, it was 83 degrees here yesterday, on February 4th!!!
Good luck in your quest to Glendale and please feel free to ask more questions if you need to!
