The current Mayor of Fresno is Alan Autry, a former actor who is best known as Bubba on the TV crime show ‘In the Heat of the Night’. He’s been in the hot seat since 2000.
I believe his predecessor was Jim Patterson, although that was before my time – I moved here in ‘01.
