A question about this place:
what is it like to actually live there? we would like to relocate...

Answers:

Andy Roberts
London

In the summer, it gets very overcrowded particularly when the weather is not so good. In the winter however, everything dies and the Truronians become insular and miserable.

I don’t agree with Andy, I love living here. For families the quality of life is excellent. Although not as much cultural life as living in a City like London, there is plenty to do. Yes summers are busy, but where else can you go swimming in the sea every day if you want. It is a green county thanks to all the rain and winters do close down in the seaside towns. But Truro being a Market town is flourishing in good and bad ways, just like many other expanding towns I’m sure. There are good schools too. Give it a go.

Also relocated here from Dover in a roundabout sort of way. Love it down here, we’re just about to move to Truro from Helston. Not really a city, i reckon someone got the plans for “church” and “cathedral” muddled and Truro got lucky! Like the bars, shopping OK, diverse and generally good quality restaurants and the fact you’re never far away from a beach. Don’t like how busy the roads get in the Summer, especially caravans (tractors in winter also – come to Cornwall and get stuck behind something!!). Heaps better than Dover…
