I hope it helps… Like most of the country’s capitals, Montevideo is elegant city with lots of pleaces to go and things to do. In the bus station you can find lots of information. By the people I met, they are very warm and will treat you with smiles. I had a nice experience with a local jornalist called Marianita which was a very nice host. She took me and some friens to nice bars (most of them with Irish Style) on Montevideo Viejo. After that bar, we went to a night club where I saw in a huge screen some old video clips…. very nice. After all that, she took us to another night club, but it was closing, so we stayed there for a couple minutes and left. After all that journey, we closed the night in her apartament, drinking coffee and tea. I stayed the in a Hostel near to 18 de Julio Avenue. The owner of the hostel is called Carlos. For me, the best part of being in a hostel is meet people from everywhere and most of them are able to have a great time together. If you have any question about my English, please ask. We went on a day trip to a place to the East of Montevideo; took a few hours to get there by bus.. Punta del Este, I think it is called? That was really nice – kind of a holiday retreat for the rich (and these days not so rich ;o)).

Other than that we tried to visit the Football Museum, but it was closed – so not sure if that is worth seeing? The park area around it was nice though :o)
