A question about this place:
a yummy place to sleep in the area?? Will take the Ferry Burlington-Port Kent. It's our first much awaited night...and plan to spend half of the next day exploring Adi's area--(btw, nothing posted on Ausable Chasm--worth going?)

Unfortunately, I don’t know the answer to any of those questions. The Adirondacks are huge! :)

Good luck, though!

There are many excellent places to sleep in the Adirondacks, but the mountains are quite large and my knowledge of the area is mostly central-southern, so where you’ll be would help me come up with a good answer.

Ausable Chasms are very nice and well worth a visit.

Sorry I also can’t help you with the search for a place to stay. However, I second the recommendation for Ausable Chasm! It’s the one place on my wishlist for the Adirondacks! Have fun!

ADK is 6 million acres so its hard to say much about where to stay when the place is so huge! Ausable Chasm is definately worth the visit. There are also a lot of quaint rustic shops in town if you like that sort of thing. As far as the ferry i’ve never taken it. but i know its close by so definately if you are that close go see the chasm.

spending the night can mean many different things to people. some prefer b&bs, others a backwoods campout, some go cheap hotel, others luxury. You need to be more specific. but good luck and enjoy!!!!
