You should visit Barcelona – Sagrada Familia and some other buildings by Gaudí are must-see. And definitely go to Picasso’s museum.
You could also go to Figueres – it’s not that far away from Barcelona and there’s Dalí’s museum. I went there a couple of days ago, it was amazing.

If you go to Figueres, don’t visit just the museum, you can visit also San Fernandos Castle, one of the biggest of Europa in its ages.

And if you like Dali, you must visit Cadaques, it’s summer village.

I’ll go the other way. Completely other end of the country.
Granada. What’s there? The Alhambra, and that’s good for one day on its own—be sure to get your timed ticket in advance though.
Of course the Sierra that frame Granada make it a wonderful place in general. So, that’s my suggestion.

I agree with Granada. One of my favorite spots ever. Then, I would rent a car and drive through the Pueblos Blancos near Ronda. After that, if there is time left, the Gold Coast.

A friend of mine did a short tour of Spain in about 5 days from Barcelona, via Pamplona (running of the bulls was taking place) to Bilbao.
I think Madrid is underrated, great atmosphere and nice museums. But number one place to see is definitely Barcelona.

I’m from Spain!! You must be here more than 5 days =)
A good option is Bcn, all the city and the beaches, (for example 2 days) Montjuic castle, port, Ramblas,Parc G…
From Bcn you can go by train to Girona (1h15’) and visit the city center, and at the afternoon going to Figueres and visit its castle and the Dali’s museum.
From Bcn you can go by the night train to Granada, and visit de Alhambra, city center, some tapas (the streets next to the traduction university and the “bulls square” area are the best for tapas) ( 2 days)
Valencia, is an other option, City of arts and Sciences, Miguelete, beaches (Saler), food,…
Those are my best options, however there are several of cities to visit!!

I’m from Spain and since I’ve travel a lot around it, I’ll recommend you to visit Madrid. It’s such a beautiful city full of life at any hour of the day. It has got museums, street markets, tons of local restaurants, famous monuments and Real Madrid’d stadium. What more could you ask for?
