My favorite book on Peru, I found while I was there, is called Journey of the Pink Dolphins: An Amazon Quest by Sy Montgomery.

A few friends I went to Peru with read and loved The White Rock: An Exploration of the Inca Heartland by Hugh Thomson.

Hiram Bingham’s Lost City of the Incas and for a travel guide I’d recommend the Footprint guide.

I would recommend The Celestine Prophecy which is set in Peru.
