Hi, I can’t suggest a hotel for a family since I only went to Paris with my girlfriend. However, do avoid the Armstrong hotel, it was a bit disappointing. I’d recommend to look for a small hotel or some sort of bed&breakfast. Large hotels are usually no good.
Have a nice trip :).

68) Les Chansonniers
113, boulevard de
Ménilmontant 75011
(33-1) 43-57-00-58
59 euros
I stayed at the Hôtel les Chansonniers in Paris last year, and it offers excellent value. If you are visiting the usual sights, it is quite far out of the way; but that whole neighborhood (except for Père-Lachaise) is quite undiscovered by the tourist world, and there are many excellent-value (and excellent-quality) restaurants to be found there. — Notworthwords
69) Hôtel Jeanne d’Arc
3, rue de Jarente 75004
(33- 1) 48-87-62-11
www.hoteljeannedarc.com
70 euros
The best hotel, dollar for dollar, in Paris is the Hotel Jeanne d’Arc in the Marais district. Last time I stayed there in 2007 it was $90 a night with an en suite bath. Great location, on a lovely side street, charming and clean rooms, nice staff. It’s been the same price since I started going there 20 years ago. — Cathy
70) Hotel Ibis Paris Montmartre 18ème
5, rue Caulaincourt 75018
(33-1) 55-30-18-18
www.ibishotel.com
61 euros
I’m always a bit surprised I never read about the Ibis hotels. If you can reserve in advance, rooms are as cheap as $60 and these are nice, functional, clean hotels and usually near all kinds of transport. It’s our hotel of choice when we travel. — Dave Ferre
71) Etap Hotel Paris La Villette 19ème
57-63, Avenue Jean Jaurès 75019
(33-8) 92-68-08-91
www.etaphotel.com
58 euros
If you really wish to stay at low cost (60 euros and less) do look for the Etap Hotel. They are usually just outside city limits but there is an invaluable one on the rue Jean Jaurès in Paris 19th Arrondissement, not far from Gare du Nord and easily reached by Métro (Jaurès) in a wonderful area far from tourist traps. — Manon
72) Hôtel Tiquetonne
6, rue Tiquetonne 75002
(33-1) 42-36-94-58
55 euros
At the risk of giving up the quintessential secret for the one of the most inexpensive places in Paris, I want to recommend the Hotel Tiquetonne. (Directions: Metro: Etienne Marcel or Réaumur-Sébastopol) The hotel is simple but clean, on a quiet street, near les Halles & Rue Montorgueil. — Richard Hess

I always stay at the Hotel du 7th Art. A wonderful small hotel in the Marais area and near the Seine on St. Paul. Pictures of Frank Sinatra and other great movies greats all over the place. A friendly and helpful staff. Very nice. — edwalterslv
77) Hôtel de la Porte Dorée

80 euros
A friend and I found the lovely Hôtel de la Porte Dorée in a quiet corner of Paris called Porte Dorée. We enjoyed their many fine shops and huge public park in that neighborhood, and were able to get into the city very quickly by Métro. I believe our room was less than 90 euros. They have beautiful furnishings and friendly staff. — Nancy Welsh

I have stayed here in the past and it was nice and affordable (rates very a lot by season). It is located just a few blocks from the tower and metro.

I’ve always stayed here, it’s very centric and good value, it is in a very nice neighbour and if you have small children you wont be walking so much with the cold weather, so I suggest this, rates are about €90-€100 per room, I remember.

I took my family there, we where 9 and odd No to accommodate and they where very helpful.
Hope you don’t struggle to much, good luck! Amit

We have traveled to Paris many times with our children. When they were very young (6-8) we stayed at Novotel in Les Halles. Location is central, rooms are large and they have cribs if you need one. They have children’s dinners that begin around 6:00 for little ones who get hungry early. It is reasonably priced and very child friendly.

Try the
Best Western Bretagne Montparnasse
It’s very affordable for Paris.
I have a home about 45 minutes outside of Paris. When i want to stay overnight, I often stay here. It’s clean, very friendly, with a great location close to the Montparnasse station. It’s also a very quiet neighborhood. This is unusual for a less pricey hotel in Paris. Usually, the cheaper the hotel, the noisier the street it’s on. Not true with this one. You will have to walk about three blocks from the train station, but it’s not a big problem. It’s a very good value and you can easily get to the sights via the metro. Keep in mind that in Paris the rooms are SMALL. Even in the priciest hotels, the rooms are much smaller than what an American traveller is used to. However, in this hotel, the rooms are well appointed and spotless (most important thing!). It’s a basic hotel but provides everything a traveller needs.

Thanks for the tip.
I also found out Best Western chain has a lot of hotels in Paris within a variety of budget and locations. Most with 2 Single or 1 Queen bed though.

I have stayed in at least one other Best Western and that one was not nearly as nice as the one I recommended. Make sure and read online reviews because there does seem to be a lot of difference between them even though they are the same chain.

Thanks so much for the answers, this is a good list to get started.
Yes, something closer would be good to as with winter, there is less daylight…

I travel to Paris 2-3 times a year. The best deals I’ve found have been on (believe it or not) the Paris Craigslist page, under “Sublets/Temporary”. For a stay lasting more than a week… with a washer/dryer and a full dose of immersion, this alternative to staying in hotels is phenomenally cheaper and much more comfortable.

That is a nifty tip, Thanks!
There are some good places under Vacation rentals too. Interesting culture find, Charming typically means quaint here, but it seems to indicate pretty nice and modern in Paris.
