A question about this place:
-Do I need work visa to work? And do I need a sponsor? - What's the city like? - I know the cost of living is high in Japan, but exactly how high? - What's base life like? Do they have a BX on base? What's there to do?

If you work on-base (And there’s usually jobs available), you shouldn’t need any kind of visa. You do need to be command sponsored if you’re a dependent, and having a sponsor in general is good if you’re an airman, though the sponsorship program isn’t the greatest. >.< Offbase, everything is expensive… which is why our COLA, for an A1C in the dorms like me is $305/month. Base life is family life, so if you’re single, good luck… it’s a very rural community, and that spreads on-base by most people being fairly laid-back. They have a BX on base, but they’re rarely very well-stocked, and as far as what to do… you pretty much have to be an outdoors-y type to want to travel. There’s lots of shrines and stuff like that within driving distance, along with a few hiking trails. If you’d rather spend time at a bar, there’s a few right out the main gate, but I don’t know much about them.

If you have any other questions, I don’t know how often I’ll be back here, but I’ll do my best to answer ‘em.
