I don’t know which hotel was a Coast Guard station, but I can tell you we had a fantastic off-season stay at the Bluenose Inn in Bar Harbor. It’s not located right in the downtown area, so it’s best if you have a car or bikes (or don’t mind a longer walk)—but it’s a quiet place with great views and a very accommodating staff. http://www.barharborhotel.com/
