Look into Missoula, Mt. They have local artists paint murals on building walls, street posts, park benches, etc. Lots of cute shops downtown. A sophisticated college town, and Missoula will have the best shopping in the state.

Whitefish, Mt is another great place. It’s right next to a ski mountain and some lakes. Downtown Whitefish has some cute cafes and art shops.

Whitefish is smaller than Missoula. They don’t have sales tax in Missoula or anywhere else in Montana, except for Whitefish.
