St. Louis
Going through St. Louis on I-64, there are a lot of good places to eat, like Cunetto House of Pasta on the Hill just South if I-64. If you are really looking for old-time classic drive-ins and dives, however, you can’t beat Carl’s Drive-in on Manchester road in Rock Hill. Or O’Connells Pub at I-44 and Kingshighway in the City of St. Louis. The tiny EAT RITE Diner is downtown 3 blocks south of Busch Stadium which abuts I-64 – on 7th street. And you should try to get to Ted Drewes Frozen Custard on Chippewa and Jamison in South City of St. Louis. Ted Drewes serves a lot of people but they figured out how to do it quickly. They have been doing it from that location since 1929, I believe, and there are always lines of people including celebrities who are in town. Blueberry Hill in University city at Delmar and Skinker is a classic hamburger and music place. Chuck Berry plays there once a month. For just pizza, I would try Pi in University City near Blueberry Hill, Obama’s favorite. He flew the owner to Washington to make pizza for his family. Or try Dewey’s pizza in U City or Downtown Kirkwood on Kirkwood Boulevard. Hope this helps.
