I can’t really give you any advice on the visa. I was working for the university in Tashkent so they dealt with everything to do with my visa. I just had to go and pick it up at the Embassy.

As for where to go, the silk road town of Bukhara should most definitely be on your list. I spent three months in Uzbekistan and the absolute highlight was the few days I spent in Bukhara. It’s like nowhere else I’ve ever been.
