The best place to see is the beach next to the road between Rodanthe and Avon. You can pull over, lay on the beach, and not see a person all day. Plus the sound down there is really warm and it feels good to walk through.

Other than that, go crabbing.

I really like the Duck / Corolla (North) end of the Outer Banks.

I would have to say the Rodanthe/Avon area is my favorite. Last time I was there I stayed in Avon, and it’s so far south most tourists don’t travel down that far. There’s a good restaurant in Avon called The Dolphin Den, if I remember right, and they had great seafood.

I say Jockey’s Ridge and Kitty Hawk Kites were nice places. They’re right across the street from each other. If you’re looking for nightlife, the best I’ve found is the Port O’ Call. Great ambience, great food, and great entertainment. You might also want to check out Nags Head Pier. It was one of my favorite hangouts when I was growing up there.
