A question about this place:
We're planning on getting married in Bali. So I'm wondering if anyone has done the same, and if you've got any tips on where to do so. We want to get married on a beach, but I have no idea of where to start looking...

I was married in Jamaica. It is not Bali but there are similarities. I would tell you to find hotels/resorts on the Bukit Peninsula. You want to find a place that has done weddings and who is good at it. That would be my advice. Most websites will have a dedicated page to weddings/honeymoons.

If you have specific questions about Bali outside the wedding, please let me know!

There is a black sand beach in Kusamba, which is on the southeastern coast of Bali. There are many beautiful beaches in Bali, but this black-sand section might be unique. There are a few pictures of this beach in my Kusamba photo collection here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/shanereiser/sets/72157600087285973/ Also, Tanah Lot has the beautiful buddhist temple on the beach. I’m not sure if you can get married there, but it would be worth calling the department of tourism to find out because it is gorgeous. Come to think of it, right up the hill from the temple is this garden area that might be perfect for a wedding. Here is a picture of that http://www.flickr.com/photos/shanereiser/462517588/in/set-72157600087509196/

Good luck!

Nowadays there are many places in Bali where you can get married.
Many hotels by the beach have chapels to conduct the ceremony.

The famous ones are:
Tirtha Uluwatu – beautiful place on a cliff top; it is gorgeous during sunset!(http://www.tirthabali.com/)

Nikko Hotel (Wiwaha Chapel) – another beautiful place in Nusa Dua beach; it is more of a sunrise beach.

You could try the Oberoi (http://www.oberoibali.com/Hotel/Hotel-Overview.aspx) and surrounding area of seminyak – I’ve stayed in the private villas in the area and have seen one or two weddings being prepared. Most of the best restaurants and bars are also located close by (KuDeTa)
