A question about this place:
Hey everyone. I'll be in Forest Park from Feb. 17-27 on a business trip. I won't have a car but was wondering what are places not to be missed (restaurants, monuments, parks). If anyone is willing to show me around, that too would be amazing!

If you are in Forest Park, St. Louis Zoo is one of the best! Plus it’s FREE! The Science Center is in Forest Park as well & that too is free… I live about an hour away so I don’t know what the locals could tell you. The park itself is really nice… Have fun!

Hey Richie,

I’d be happy to show you around, though my car situation may be up in the air that week, so we’d have to play it by ear.

In the meantime…a few items to consider for your not to be missed list:
Forest Park in general (Art Museum, Zoo, History Museum, Jewel Box)
City Museum
Missouri Botanical Garden
The Arch
Graffiti Wall
Cathedral Basilica (in Central West End)
Moolah Theatre (in Central West End)
The Loop (Shopping, restaurants)South Grand (Shopping, restaurants, Tower Grove Park, Botanical Garden all in this area)

Restaurants:
Blues City Deli (Benton Park – more difficult to get to without car, but it’s a must, especially on a Sat. afternoon)
Crown Candy Kitchen (North City, ditto on the transport)
Aya Sofia (Turkish – Southwest City, ditto on the transport)
Cha Yoon/Chi (sushi – in the Central West End, so in your neigborhood)
Dressel’s Pub (Central West End)
India’s Rasoi (CWE)
Kopperman’s Deli (CWE)
Pappy’s Smokehouse (Midtown)
Chocolate Bar (Lafayette Square – ditto on the transport)
Meskerem (ethiopian – South Grand)
Pho Grand (vietnamese – South Grand)
BB’s Jazz Blues & Soups (especially recommended on 2/24 so you can get a two-fer by witnessing a performance by STL locals Rum Drum Ramblers)

Also, just FYI, you’ll be in town for Mardi Gras in Soulard, on the 21st…if that’s your thing.

HEY! Oh that’s a great list. Shit, it’s better than my hours surfing the internet. I just got a St. Louis Visitor’s Guide in the mail, so that’s exciting. Whether you have a car or not, it’d be cool meet, grab some dinner/movie or something. I hate going to a new city/place and not knowing anybody. It’s just lonely. Write me an email at puroticorico@gmail.com and we’ll figure something out. Thanks for your response :).
