A question about this place:
I'm going here on Saturday to do some Christmas shopping, any suggestion of where to shop? Some small hidden stores I should pop by? =)

Hello!

Go to Haga, which is the “old town.” There are several little shops there that I think will be interesting for you.

For a shopping break, try Cafe Kringlin for a very nice cappucino.

Is it semla time yet?

Have fun!

I definitely second “Haga” area. Another district which is close by is the “Andra Langgatan,” and any area around “Jarntorget.”

For the best coffee, try Blue Mountain Coffee or Bar Centro. Good info on cafes or wifi hotspots here:

If you want to shop for quite cheap things for like the bathroom, kithen, table (such as candles and napkins) you clould go to Lagerhaus (http://www.lagerhaus.se/). It is located in both Nordstan (the large mall next to the central station) and on Östra Hamngatan, which is nearby too. I recomend you to go the the later, which is bigger and housed in an old cinema – rather interesting premises!

I would say that the small hidden stores are outside of the most central parts of Göteborg. If you go to Haga, like others have suggested, you could continue to Linnégatan or Vasastan (Vasagatan and its crossways).

Hi,
In Haga now during the weekend, they open up the “Haga Julmarknad” Which is a nice christmas-market that’s on the main street in Haga where they sell loads of homemade stuff etc, and there’s usually a lot of people there. The Youth Marching Band Göta Lejon from Göteborg plays there from 12-1 pm on both days too. Hope the weather is nice for you :)
