Han, Vietnam is pretty similar to most of Southeast Asia at that time, rain is hit and miss. It’s actually close to what Shanghai is like at that time. I was in Ho Chin Minh and Hanoi from May to June last year and experienced great weather as well as crazy rain.

It’s hard to say, I mean, May until November is the wet season, I’ve heard there really is no bad time to be there; however, people say that June til August is the worst.

It depends how you like to travel, my girlfriend and I had a great time despite the rain, it becomes a little scary if you’re on a motorbike when it starts to rain, but if you’re prepared it’s not that bad.

hey han, i lived in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) from feb to june in 2006 and would say the rain shouldnt be too bad..its jus the start of the rainy season. I would definately recommend Nha Trang and a little less known town called Hoi An which is beautiful. HCMC is a good town to start from…
